Name: Meta Knight
From: Kirby series (combination of anime and games, taken from after the events of Return to Dream Land)
Appearance: Meta Knight is 9 inches tall and ball-shaped with dark blue skin. On his back, he wears a dark purple cape with gold trimmings. He wears a pair of yellow-lined, grey pauldrons on his shoulders, the left one bearing his insiginia, which consists of a capital letter "M" in front of an upward-pointing sword. On his feet is a pair of purple metallic shoes. He has short arms that end with hands covered in a pair of gloves. At all times, he wears a silver mask that completely covers his face, save for his eyes, which appear yellow against the pitch black "V"-shaped slot. Should his mask ever be removed, his face is revealed to heavily resemble another particular member of Ink City, showing his pure white eyes and pink blushing cheeks.

Age: Unknown (supposedly an adult given his demeanor, though the anime seems to hint he may be thousands of years old)
Gender: Male
Personality: (Note: Much of this is speculation on the player's part from experience.)
Meta Knight is something of an enigma. He is typically reclusive or otherwise unseen when wandering about. His actions are often in question, as he can help someone out in one moment, and can be challenging them to a duel the next. When he speaks, it is typically in a collected voice that almost demands respect, and is constantly seeking to make himself a mightier warrior, though for what, few really know. Everything about him is a mystery to everyone but himself, keeping his motives a well-guarded secret as he does his own face.
To those who know him, though, his personality is clearer. Meta Knight is a wise, polite, and poweful warrior who does his best to keep the galaxy safe from the evils who threaten it. He has a code of honor that he respects at all times, never resorting to underhanded tactics to fight and offering a sword to those he challenges should they be unarmed. Meta Knight can also display a softer side, sometimes showing his amusement at what he finds to be funny. He is quick to act if disaster strikes, often lending a hand to those who would be the heroes. If you should cross blades against Meta Knight as an enemy, he is only trying to prepare you to face a greater threat, no matter who, or what, that threat may be. While his methods may seem questionable, he is an honorable warrior with only the best for the innocent in mind.
Backstory: (Note: Using information from the games, anime, and some fanon/head-canon.)
Much of Meta Knight's past before arriving on Pop Star is a mystery to everyone but himself and those he's had contact with over the years. What is known about his past is that he used to be part of a great army which stood against Nightmare, a powerful evil that threatened the peace of the galaxy. Along with his friends and allies, the Star Warriors, Meta Knight valiantly fought against Nightmare and his army of monsters. Despite their best efforts however, once the war was over, Nightmare and his forces were the ones left standing, with Meta Knight supposedly the only one left standing as he weakly escaped to a nearby star to recuperate, and hopefully have another chance one day to defeat Nightmare.
Many years into the present, Meta Knight now serves under the rule of King Dedede on Pop Star, thoughts of ending Nightmare still burning within his mind. It was at this time that someone new had arrived in Dream Land, one who Meta Knight was surprised to see: the young Star Warrior, Kirby. Though Kirby's early awakening caught him off gaurd, Meta Knight's hopes of finally defeating Nightmare were renewed as he found a new purpose: to train Kirby, so that he could one day stand up to the evils of the galaxy. Enlisting the help of King Dedede, Meta Knight had begun with his training for Kirby, at first only watching from afar as the young warrior fought on against the obstacles Dedede had placed in front of him, including the King himself.
An eventual attack on Dreamland had caught the attention of Meta Knight, as a familiar being had found Pop Star: one of Nightmare's underlings, the Dark Matter. The monstrous gathering of miasma was quick to envelop Dream Land, leaving Meta Knight to protect the populace while Kirby was left to face the main source of the monster, who had possessed King Dedede. The fights were hard, but in the end, Meta Knight witnessed Kirby's victory over Dark Matter. As the battle in the sky had ended, with most remnants of Dark Matter vanishing without a trace, Meta Knight could feel that Kirby was almost ready to fight Nightmare.
Sooner than he would have wanted would Meta Knight find out if this was true, for not long after Kirby's latest victory did Dark Matter's defeat catch the attention of the creature's master. As Nightmare tried to enter Dream Land through Pop Star's Fountain of Dreams, King Dedede, at Meta Knight's warning, removed the Star Rod and broke it into several pieces. Being entrusted with one of the pieces, Meta Knight decided to play a hand in his final test, following the hero from afar as he lent a hand at one point, and hinder him at another. As the two finally met, Meta Knight gave Kirby a sword as he challenged him to the first of many duels. Though Meta Knight held back against Kirby, the fight was still intense as their blades clashed against one another, until finally Kirby dealt the finishing blow, splitting Meta Knight's mask in half. Before Kirby could get a good look at his face, Meta Knight wrapped himself in his cape, vanishing from the pink hero's sight, leaving only his piece of the Star Rod behind.
From Pop Star's surface, Meta Knight, fatigued from his fight with Kirby, bore witness to the battle he had hope centuries for. He watched as Kirby and Nightmare fought on, trading blow for blow against each other, with Kirby wielding the now completed Star Rod in his hands. The battle seemed to go on forever, until finally, Nightmare was given the final strike. Kirby had come out of the fight the victor as he descended to the Fountain of Dreams to place the Star Rod back where it belonged. Walking away, Meta Knight smiled for the first time in ages. Not only were his comrades finally avenged, but he was proud of Kirby for becoming such a powerful warrior. Fighting back his tears, he knew that it was not the end. He knew there would be more like Nightmare who wished to take over the not just the galaxy, but the universe as a whole. He knew he would have to prepare Kirby for what may arise, and to do that, he had himself had to become stronger to better train the young Star Warrior.
After another duel against Kirby aboard the Halberd, Meta Knight set off on his own journey to train. One by one, he came out victorious against all who came against him, including his King who wished to fight him as well. Witnessing the battle Kirby had against the mad jester Marx, Meta Knight knew where to find the perfect opponent. Taking to the stars on his own, Meta Knight gathered the power of the nearby planets to summon the mechanical comet NOVA. With the comet before him, Meta Knight spoke his wish: to fight the greatest warrior in the galaxy. NOVA heard his wish, stating that the warrior in question was sealed away for fear that his power was too great. Using its power once more, NOVA freed the great warrior, Galacta Knight, from his slumber, and brought him before Meta Knight. The two not wasting a single moment, they both soared through space to a nearby meteor, where the two warriors would have their greatest battle, in which only one would be left standing.
Completely alone deep in space, the two Knights could fight to their fullest with no distractions, and no one to get in their way. Sword and spear, sword and shield, the weapons of the two warriors rang out with each impact, with not one of them giving an inch of ground to the other. Fatigue would begin setting in, but not once would either of them falter, the both of them determined to come out the victor. When at last they had finally reached their respective limits, they urged their bodies toward one another one last time, both of them knowing this would be the deciding blow. A final swipe of their weapons as they passed, and it was over. Galacta Knight fell to his knees, defeated. And as he disappeared in a brilliant flash of light, Meta Knight flew back home to Pop Star, tired and wounded, but victorious, and ever stronger than he was before.
Since then, Meta Knight has been training daily to keep his skills as sharp as his blade. Ever vigilant against evil, he is usually the first to notice something wrong, such as when he sensed trouble in a mirror world above Dream Land. He has fought against Kirby several more times, once when his mind was controlled by a powerful wizard, though Meta Knight does still assist Kirby whenever he feels the hero would need the help. Recently though, he found himself, King Dedede, and a spear wielding Waddle Dee, fighting alongside Kirby in his latest adventure, witnessing up close just how much stronger he has become since his arrival on Pop Star. With each obstacle he sees the young Star Warrior overcome, Meta Knight feels he may actually see the day when he can fully entrust the welfare of the galaxy in Kirby's hands.
Moral Standing: Neutral Good: Whether he gives you something to help fight off an enemy, draws his own sword against dark forces, or even plots his own 'evil' plans, Meta Knight only wants what is best for the people. Win or lose, as long as evil doesn't prevail, he will do what he feels needs to be done.
Equipment:
- Dimensional Cape: The cape Meta Knight wears is special in that it grants the wearer several abilities, if they know how to utilize it. First off, it grants Meta Knight the ability to manipulate space to a certain degree. By quickly wrapping the cape around himself, Meta Knight can teleport from one location to another. It also allows the wearer to ebb out of reality for a short time, momentarily freezing nearby people in place as the surrounding area is enveloped in complete darkness, leaving opponents completely open to attack for the duration. Furthermore, the cape is able to change into a pair of bat wings, allowing Meta Knight to fly through the sky.
- Galaxia: An unusal golden sword with a ruby set in the hilt and three spikes jutting out of either side of the blade, Galaxia is Meta Knight's signature and greatest weapon. Forged long ago with a spirit and will of its own, a very select few can even touch it without experiencing great pain or dying. Those who can wield it are recognized as warriors of incredible power, and are allowed use of the sword's full might as they see fit. Galaxia is thus far capable of shooting out sword beams, completely shattering rock, creating immense crevasses in the ground, and easily overwhelming an opponent's defenses, slicing them in two. In addition, Meta Knight can generate a powerful tornado by spinning around at high speed with Galaxia in hand. When not in use, Meta Knight keeps Galaxia within its sheath, which is little more than just a small cup that the blade can disappear into of its own power.
Dreams: To see the day when he can finally lay down his sword and remove his mask, able to live out the rest of his days in a peaceful world.
Fears: He fears that evil will triumph over good, with everything he fought to protect destroyed before his eyes. His greatest fear is if HE had a hand in doing so.
Extra:
- Almost no one knows, but Meta Knight has a sweet tooth. There is a jar of candies in his room that he takes from every now-and-then. If he is offered something sweet, he will politely accept it from whoever offered, and if it is small, he'll quickly lift his mask to pop it into his mouth.
- Meta Knight trains almost everyday to keep his swordfighting abilities at their peak, and perhaps even take them farther. Whenever he takes a break from training, he is known to either watch some television, walk about town, or just sit down with a good book.
- Though he is a swordsman, Meta Knight is capable of fighting without the use of his sword. When participating in hand-to-hand combat, he exhibits strength that second only to his speed, and is capable of using several different moves to strike and counter his opponent.
- Since Kirby manages to break his mask almost everytime they fight, Meta Knight keeps multiple copies on hand in his bedroom closet at all times. If his current mask is removed but remains intact, he will make a beeline for it so as to cover his face again.
- With his mask on, Meta Knight's eyes will change according to what emotions he feels at the moment. When they turn blue, he is feeling proud or happy. If his eyes turn red, then you've managed to anger him. His eyes turn pink if something amuses him, but they become grass green when he is totally serious about something. Shimmering green eyes indicate that Meta Knight is either suspicious of something or solving a problem. If his eyes are closed, like he's sleeping, his eyes will turn a dark orange for as long as they're closed. Finally, if he feels several emotions at once, his eyes will flash in whatever colors represent said emotions.
- Being a part of the same species that Kirby is, Meta Knight does possess the innate ability to utilize Copy Abilities, though centuries of only wielding Galaxia have rendered the great warrior with only a familiarity of many such powers (i.e., he would be masterful of the Sword ability, but have little to no experience with the Mirror or Bomb abilities). Should the need for a Copy Ability arise, however, there are two factors that limit Meta Knight's ability to attain it, one of which is self-imposed. The first is the lack of a powerful vacuum-like inhalation technique (also simply known as 'sucking up') like that of Kirby. This means that Meta Knight needs to actively place the Copy fodder into his mouth or otherwise catch it in his mouth. The second is, as a warrior of honor, Meta Knight refuses to 'eat' living beings to attain an ability, even anyone that would be his enemy. This severely limits what he can copy an ability from to non-living, inanimate objects and attacks that hold an ability's properties. While they wouldn't be a substitute for his Galaxia, the access of Copy Abilities give Meta Knight a way to fight should he ever lose his trusted sword.

An alarm sounded atop a night stand, letting out an echo in the room it was in as the owner stirred from his sleep. A stubby blue arm reached out from under the covers, wandering about for a moment before finding the 'Snooze' button on the clock. Sitting up with a yawn, the ball-shaped male climbed out of his bed, promptly heading for the restroom. Turning on the cold water faucet, he splashed his face to help him wake-up. After wiping his face of the water, he returned to the main room in order to make his bed. Now awake and with his bed made, the blue ball approached the lone window within his one room, throwing open the curtains for his pure white eyes to be greeted by a clear sunny day on the other side. Taking a nearby watering can in his hands, he poured some of the contents into each of several pots of blue roses, whose rich, vibrant colors were a clear indication that they are well cared for.
Stepping up to a small white fridge in the corner of the room, the ball opened the door to look through its contents. After not even a moment of looking, he pulled out a half-eaten steak, leftovers of the night before, and a bright red apple. Sitting on the floor at a small table, the ball would begin eating his small breakfast. The steak had become tough and bland from sitting in the fridge all night, but he didn't complain as he bit into it without even a grimace. He took his time, switching between steak and apple until all that was left was a bare bone and a core. Disposing of what was left of his meal in a garbage chute, he placed the plate the steak was on back into the fridge. He walked to his bedside stand and reached into a jar filled with colorful candies, taking out a green one and placing it in his mouth, a little dessert before returning to the bathroom to brush his teeth.
Exiting his restroom again with pleasantly fresh breath, he approached his closet, almost finished with his morning routine. As he pulled open the door, he pulled out the all too familiar mask he had grown accustomed to wearing. Just as he placed the mask upon his face, he heard a knocking at his door. "Lord Meta Knight, final preparations are almost complete. All of the cannons have been loaded, the Heavy Lobster is functioning at 100% efficiency, and solar level is currently at 257. We will be ready for takeoff in about five minutes."
"Excellent. Tell Captain Vul that I'll be out momentarily, then return to your post. I'm just about ready," Meta Knight would reply as he finished donning his attire. With that, his subordinate could be heard running down the hall as Meta Knight grabbed his sword, the Galaxia, in its sheath and strapped it to his side. Before exiting his quarters, he had remembered something. Approaching an area of his room, he stopped in front of a wall covered in pictures of him and his allies from centuries past, their weapons and armor below the photographs. He drew his sword with his gloved hand as his eyes stayed locked on the one empty area on the center weapon rack. Touching the tip of his sword to the floor, he bowed before the pictures as he said in silent prayer, "Please, watch over me, my friends." He resheathed his sword as he got back up, and turned to exit his room, his cape the only thing following him.
As he walked toward a large window in the bridge of the Halberd, Meta Knight could feel as his ship began to rise upon its launch pad, with Commander Vul heard giving the orders for the takeoff procedure. "Reactor 1, output normal. Adjust the balancer to...0003! Let's raise the anchor. Check anti-gravity plant. 1, 2, 3 Okay!! Release the sails, solar level 288!"
As Meta Knight stopped infront of the observation window, he spoke aloud, "The time has come. The time to show our power! Dream Land's lazy lifestyle will end! I will rule!" In the distance, he saw a twinkle of light, a sign that the one person he would want to face was coming to stop him. He awaited the moment they would cross swords again with silent eagerness.

Meta Knight's flagship, the Halberd is a powerful battleship capable of traversing the stars as easily as it does the sky. Given its nature as a warship, the Halberd has a multitude of cannons and defenses with which to attack whatever may rest in its path. Two of the Halberd's most prominent weapons are the Heavy Lobster, a large robotic crustacean equipped with a flamethrower primarily for internal and external defense, and the Main Cannon No.2, nicknamed the Combo Cannon by the crew, which is a large weapon on the deck equipped with three different methods of attack: a rotating main turret that fires cannonballs, an energy cannon that emits powerful laser blasts, and a mechanical arm which can drop bombs on and grab enemies.
Given its massive size, the Halberd has a myriad of rooms connected by long corridors and a trolley system to support a large crew of near equal size. While the majority of rooms are small areas in which crewmembers would live in, there are several different important rooms within the Halberd with different designated purposes. There is a kitchen, a jail in which to place prisoners, a training room, and a massive engine room which houses the ship's main reactor. The reactor itself consists of a large crystal protected by a near impenetrable energy barrier, which is equipped with an aimed laser gun and several flamethrowers which are powered by an independent source. While the Halberd runs on solar power to some degree, many small chambers around the engine room suggest a completely different main power source. Since coming to Ink City, the Halberd has lost its main power source, leaving it grounded with only enough power for basic functions, such as opening doors, lighting the halls and rooms, running the trolley system, and operating the elevators. Some of the smaller cannons can be fired from the bridge, but other than that, the Halberd is currently just a massive house with defenses.
Meta Knight has his own private living quarters connected to the Halberd's main bridge. While his own quarters are at least twice as big as the living areas for his crew, it is lightly furnished, containing little more than the basics an average household would possess. Meta Knight's quarters consist of a personal bathroom and a single big room with a bay window in the northern wall that serves as the main living area. This one room is well kept and serves several uses, containing Meta Knight's bed, a nearby night stand, a small closet holding several copies of his armor, a simple color television, a small coffee table to eat at, a small refridgerator for food, and a bookcase with the shelves half-filled with his favorite literature. There are a few knick knacks within the main room. A jar of candies rests on his night stand, while in front of the bay window are several pots holding vibrant blue roses. On one section of wall are hung several photos of Meta Knight with various different people, many of who seem to be warriors like him. Below the pictures are a few racks holding an assortment of weapons that match the ones held by the other warriors, with pieces of matching armor in front of each weapon. A first glance would lead one to think that it was a sort of trophy area, while in reality it is a tribute to the warriors in the photos. Squarely in the middle of the collection is a single empty area with room for only one more weapon.
